2011 LHIMA State Convention & Exhibit
If you are looking for a great way to share what you’ve learned, give back to the profession, add something to your resume or just earn CEUs – how about making a presentation at the LHIMA convention? LHIMA is now accepting applications for program speakers for our 2011 Convention & Exhibit educational program.

The annual LHIMA Convention & Exhibit will be held April 13-15, 2011 at the Best Western Inn & Suites in Alexandria.

Topics should focus on issues of interest to health information management professionals, health information policy-makers and health information technology professionals.

Speaker applications are due by October 1, 2010.

All proposals submitted are reviewed and selected by the LHIMA 2011 Programs Committee. Program topics should be timely, relevant and innovative. We are looking for speakers to provide the audience with greater understanding of current issues, new systems and applications, with program content that offers practical approaches and solutions while stimulating new ideas.

The following items represent possible educational session areas. Other topics will also be considered:

Coding, EHR, Networking, Training, Resources, Administration and Legal Issues.

Potential speakers should submit a presentation title and outline to the Project Chairman, Chris Jones at chris.jones@christushealth.org. You may submit more than one outline for consideration. Additional information required includes the main learning objectives of the presentation, and your curriculum vitae or resume. Speaker handouts are also required and speakers must submit a master of their handout materials to LHIMA at least six weeks before the convention. Educational topics are generally one hour, no more than 2 hours in length (including questions and answers). Panel presentations are also permitted.
